  • 250g asparagus
  • 50g barley
  • A fresh bunch of coriander
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • No salt is required

Mix all the above mentioned ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. This particular soup is helpful for reducing water maintenance, liquid accumulation and easing urinary difficulty.

Basic Ayurvedic Diet curry recipe











  • 4 tablespoons of coconut oil.
  • 2 tablespoons each of fennel seeds, cumin, coriander and mustard seed.
  • 2 inch pieces of freshly chopped ginger
  • 2 Pinch of asafoetida
  • Three different types of vegetables you prefer, chopped (400g of each type)
  • Turmeric, cumin and cinnamon to taste
  • Yoghurt one cup

Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the cumin, coriander, mustard seeds and fennel on a high heat until it gets brown and start releasing a delicious smell. Other spices, as needed, can be used. Now add ginger and asafoetida. Also add chopped vegetables. Mix until the vegetables are coated in the spice oil. You can add little water and simmer the content on low heat for about 20 minutes or until it’s cooked. Now you can add turmeric, cumin, cinnamon powders to taste. You can also add yoghurt to make a creamier sauce. Serve hot.

Ayurvedic Diet Rice pudding Recipe









  • 100g rice for pudding (Try using red rice)
  • I liter of cow’s or rice milk
  • 4 tablespoons of almond powder
  • 8 strands of saffron
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • Rose Jam
  • Coconut oil or honey

Keep the rice in a pressure cooker or heavy pan. Now add milk. Bring it to boil and simmer at least for 2 hours. Now you can add almond powder and more milk if required Soak the saffron in 2 tablespoons of milk for at least 15 minutes to extract its pigment and then you can add to rice pudding. For garnishing you can add cardamom and rose jam. Serve with honey if required.You can also add grated Beetroots to this recipe for a colorful and nutritious variation.

Ayurvedic Diet Hot milk recipe















  • 1 and half cup of almond or rice milk
  • 3 tablespoons of organic almond powder
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 6 strands of saffron.
  • Half teaspoon of nutmeg

Heat all the above mentioned ingredients and add 2 tablespoons of honey.
