1) Kasba Ganpati ( MANACHA PAHILA GANPATI)
First Ganpati of Honor in Pune. Established in the year 1893, mandal is gracing the first place in immersion procession since 1894. The idol was found near the house of Shri Vinayak Thakar, then he build a beautiful mandir for this idol, which is the ‘GramDaivat’ of Pune Shri Kasba Ganpati . The temple was commissioned by Jijabai, mother of Shivaji, after Dadoji Konddeo had reported that an idol of Ganpati had been found in Pune.

Kasba Ganpati Mandal celebrated the festival within the premises of the temple and from 1926 it has been celebrated in an enclosed mandap. Presently, the ten days of the festival is a platform for local artists to display their talents through various cultural programs thus allowing a large number of devotees to participate in the celebrations. On the last day, Shri Kasba Ganpati plays the leading role during the immersion procession.

2)Tambdi Jogeshwari ( MANACHA DUSRA GANPATI)

Since the colour of the idol is Red, it is called Tambdi Jogeshwari, it is said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had faith in the temple. It is believed that looking at the popularity of Jogeshwari, Lokmanya Tilak decided to install an idol of Lord Ganesh here and gave it the position of the second Manache Ganpati after Kasba Ganpati. Tambdi Jogeshwari as the Gram Devi (village deity) of Pune city as all Puneites invite Goddess Jogeshwari to their home before the beginning of any function.

-The mandal is more than 121 years old and since its inception, it has been celebrating the Ganesh Festival in a very traditional and cultural way.

-The Ganesh idol is made of shadoo i.e soil and is thus eco-friendly.
-The mandal organises trikal pooja (three times a day) by well-known personalities. Women recite bhajans in the pandal daily from 3 pm to 5 pm.
-The mandal had the privilege to use a palkhi of Sardar Natu of Peshwa regime till 1992, after which a silver palkhi for Ganesh was made.
Right from the inception, the Ganesh idol has been made by DM Gulunjkar’s family without any mould. This is their fourth generation which is making the idol. Another thing which is unique to the mandal, is that the whole Ganesh idol is immersed during Visarjan unlike others who do not immerse the original big idol. The mandal organises bhajans during the festival and this year will donate essential items to an orphanage on Tilak Road.

3) Guruji Talim (MANACHA TISARA GANPATI)

Third in the line of popularity, this Ganpati is located at the Ganpati Chowk in Laxmi road in the city of Pune. This was started in the year 1887 and existed even before the Indian leader Lokmanya Tilak publicized the festival for the betterment of the masses. This established a unity between the Hindus and the Muslims. This was incidentally the first among the mandals which celebrated a 100 years of existence.

Guruji Talim Mandal is the third privileged Ganapati in the city. Keeping with the tradition of beautiful decorations, the Mandal has put up a serene set up showing Lord Vitthala and Goddess Rukmini at the back of the Ganesh idol. The Balgajanan i.e. child Ganesh has been shown sitting on His mount the mouse. The serpent surrounding the belly of Lord Ganesh, the gold ornaments and the weapons Pasha and the Ankusha in two of Ganesha’s hands are the major turn ons here. You are also pleased to see the image of Saint Tukaram to the right side of the Ganesh idol and that of Saint Dynaneshwar to the left. The art work on the pillars made of thermocol adds to the grandeur of the set up.

4) Tulsibaugh Ganapati ( MANACHA 4th GANAPATI)

Tulsibaugh Ganpati  is the old and famous Ganesh mandal in Pune it is known as manacha 4th ganpati. Tulsibaugh Ganapati mandal is known for the size of the Ganesh idol.This is the first mandal to make a fiber glass idol of Ganpati.Every year a new 15 feet high idol is created by Mr.D.S.Khataokar. This mandal is completing its centenary next year. It celebrates prominent religious festivals and occasions.

5) Kesriwada Ganapati (MANACHA 5th GANAPATI)

Lokmanya Tilak established this idol in year 1893. Kesriwada ganpati  mandal vows to take up social and cultural undercurrents of the society. Organizes shows of renowned artists and speeches of great personalities during the festival. Organizes various activities and competitions for children and women
